Mission Creek inmates plant veggies, reap rewards of giving back, August 28, 2019
Peggy sits on her knees, separating tomatoes by size and tossing them into boxes.
She’s an inmate at Mission Creek Corrections Center for women, but today she’s also a gardener for the Kitsap Conservation District.
Inmates at Mission Creek are eligible to work various jobs through nonprofits or state agencies, depending on their criminal history and behavior. Kitsap Conservation District’s GRACE Garden is a favorite workplace of many of the women who are eligible for job assignments.
